Which devices are you supporting? FiveBarGate supports phones and PDA’s via Java, Microsoft Smartphone and Microsoft Pocket PC clients.
How much does it cost? The clients are free and can be downloaded without restriction from the FiveBarGate.net website.
How do I install FiveBarGate?The easiest way is to download vie the
Client Download Centre. Advanced users can also download from the 'Download' link in the menu above.
I don’t have WAP. How do I install the Java version? Download the java version to your PC. Use infrared, data cable, serial cable or Bluetooth connection to copy the application to your phone as instructed by your phone manual or manufacturer.
Will you be supporting languages other than English? Yes. Look at the future releases section for more information. Also, please contact us if you have a specific language requirement that you would like roled out sooner.
How big is the client install? I don’t have much bandwidth and space.The client install is very small, about 80k for the Java client and 200k for the Microsoft installs.
Are the Microsoft versions certified by Microsoft? Currently only the Smartphone is.
Can someone break my access if they get hold of my phone? No. You have to enter your secret code to be able to generate a Gatekey. On generation, your secret code is cleared, so even if someone gets hold of your phone it will be of no use to them.
I am using more than one site with FiveBarGate. Do I need to install a different client for each site? No. The same client works for all installations of FiveBarGate.
I have lost my phone. Am I at risk? No. FiveBarGate never stores any information about you or your logins. Once you get your replacement phone, simply download FiveBarGate again.
I don’t always have connectivity on my cell phone. How does this affect FiveBarGate?It has no effect on FiveBarGate at all as FiveBarGate does not require connectivity to run. On international trips you don't require international roaming for FiveBarGate to work.
How long is my FiveBarGate key valid for?The key is valid only for one login and within a certain time period specified by the administrator of the website you are logging in to.
I can't log in. What could be wrong?1. Your GateKey may have expired. You can find out from your site administrator how long GateKeys are valid for. Generate and login within the time period.
2. Your phone time or region is incorrect. FiveBarGate requires that your phone is set to the region that you are actually in, and that your phone time is reasonably correct. Check the About screen to see how your phone is set.
3. Your secter code has been entered incorrectly. Remember that FiveBarGate is case sensitive.
Are the User Id and Secret case-sensitive?
Yes, they both are. Make sure you enter them exactly in the same way as specified by the site you are logging into.
The GateKey generated a really, really rude word!
The GateKey and Verification codes are randomly generated, and any recognisable word spelt out by it is by pure chance.
